When It’s All Said and Done is a journey of how cancer became the driving force of stretching my faith beyond what I ever thought possible, and experiencing that God still speaks today. Where do you turn when you come to understand at best you have 5–7 years to live? The verse “and without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6 NIV) became my day-to-day reality. Now I know this sounds crazy but cancer was the best thing that ever happened to me—well, not the being diagnosed with cancer part, and not going through the fear, the pain, and the suffering, but the amazing journey that God took me through. Yes, the verse “And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God to them that are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 KJV) is absolutely, positively true—even cancer can be worked for our good! Believe me it was not a little sprint getting through this; it was more like a marathon, maybe even a triathlon, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Now I must share the intricate details that have God’s fingerprints all over them. You see, He is really good at demonstrating that it is His work, His story, His miracle; I just happen to be the lucky and blessed recipient!
